LOCATING THE PLACE OF YOUR HELP...
Segment 1 - Waiting, why so long?
' The Lord our God spoke unto us in Horeb, saying, ye have dwelt long enough in this mount: Turn you, and take your journey... Deuteronomy 1:6'
There is a time to wait and there is a time to move, I have always heard people saying 'I am waiting on the Lord', Believers regularly use that phrase and it seems to be running out of context. Everybody is waiting on God it seems we are on a queue. If God places us on a queue before he could attend to you, you would wait for the rest of your life...
There is a time to move, to flow and overflow, there is certainly a time to act.
It is not all about waiting. It is time to hear people say, ' I am acting on God's word. The followers of Jesus were called disciples- the 12 disciples, when they were with Jesus, training, watching, waiting and asking questions. That was all through the the books of Matthew to John and after Jesus left and released the Holy Spirit he empowered us to act on his behalf and in the proceeding chapters, the disciples were no longer called disciples but apostles and bible recorded the ACTS Of THE APOSTLES. (Apostles meaning `sent ones', instead of the previous; disciples meaning 'followers'). Today the world has viewed church growth in terms of seating capacity and number of people in the church but revival doesn't stop at the amount of people committed to your church but the number of them that grow out from being followers to world missionaries to birth new followers and so on. It is a continuous cycle a birth and rebirth.
I believe I am talking to someone today, God is saying you have waited long enough, now is the time to act on what he has told you. To be certain you have been instructed of God, 2Corinthians 1 :18-20 affirms to us that God's word is a bold YES. It is not a guessing game, yes or no, if or maybe's, God 's word to you is always certain and always sure. Your feelings and your sense of reason might be mixing it up in your mind, but be certain that your feelings can't change God's stand on whatever he has told you.
Segment 2- The Move, your Journey
The Holy Spirit, has been freely given to us, like a compass, he guides us and helps us make decisions based on God's word. You can never know the will of God for your life except through the Holy Spirit, 2 Corinthians 2: 10-11 ' but God hath revealed them unto us by his spirit for the spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man but the spirit of God'.
Only the Holy Spirit can reveal God's thought and plan and his very perfect will for you. And God is more than willing to tell you what he wants for you than you are willing to ask. Are you confused? Seek his Spirit! Are you afraid of choices to make if it is the right thing to do? seek the Holy spirit. You would be Amazed by his precision. Moses understood this principle when he was negotiating with God on behalf of the Israelites in Exodus 33:2 ...God said I will send an angel before thee... For I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiff necked people. Moses countered God and said in verse 15, if thy presence shall not go with me carry us not up hence. Moses knew the presence of God is the Holy Spirit which operates from the inside. The Holy Spirit operates from deep inside your belly and is always with you. The angels operates from the outside our bodies and ministers us (Hebrews 1:14). It is not easy to perceive the presence of an angel that is why most times we miss the angel because we do not recognise an angel except they are revealed to us. But with the Holy Spirit it is easy to discern his presence because he is in you. This is when Jesus was speaking about the person of the Holy Spirit in John 7:38, He denotes him as the living water that flows from our belly. For He said, He that believes in me as the Scriptures said, Out of his belly shall flow the rivers of living water.
You need the Holy Spirit to show you the way to your place. On your journey to the place, there would be miracles, temporary sources of provisions to aid you through your journey to your place. God told Elijah in 1 kings 17 :3- 9, "Go from here and turn east and hide yourself by the brook cherith, east of Jordan. You shall drink of the brook and I have commanded the raven to feed you there. So Elijah did according to the word of The Lord and the raven brought him bread and flesh in the morning and bread and flesh in the evening, and he drank of the brook. After a "while" the brook dried up because there was no rain in the land and the word of God came to Elijah, arise, go to zarephath, behold I have commanded a widow there to provide for you".
Now when the brook dries up and the raven no longer shows up what do you have to do? It is time to arise and move! Another typical example is in 2 kings 6 :24-25 ' and it came to pass after this that Ben-had ad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria and there was a great famine in Samaria...' What was the solution? In 1 Kings 7:3-12 there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate and they said to one another, why sit we here until we die? If we say, we will enter into the city, then feminine is in the city and we shall die there: and if we sit still here we die also. Now there fore come and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us we shall but die. Further down in verse 6; while the lepers were approaching, The Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host; and they said to one another, lo the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians to come upon us. Therefore they fled in the twilight and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was and fled for their lives...read till verse 9 and stop.
Some of us who have successfully launched out to find our place are stuck in the place of temporary provisions and when the brook dries up we cry God why? We suspect people to be behind our failures, we even sometimes think it is our own fault why the brook dried meanwhile it is God telling you to arise and move. It doesn't matter what made your brook dry up, it could be your mistake, it could be some else's mischief but I tell you God will use any method to get you of that place when you need to move.
The place of temporary provision is not where you have to settle. It is for a while and it is certain it will dry up. It could be a job it was only meant to sustain you till GOD prepares another place for you and you got sacked either because of your fault or someone's allegation against you it doesn't matter, it could be a relationship God allowed into your life for a short while to break you, teach you by trials and test till you are equipped for your spouse and the person wants to leave but you keep begging and wondering where you would start from if the person leaves, even if the person is leaving due to your own fault and God wants it that way Let it Go it doesn't matter, (this is not applicable to marriages!) it could be a thriving business meant to occupy you for a while till God plants you firmly in another going sour stop crying over what God has dried up, it is time to move, it could be a benefactor who say he can't help you any further it doesn't matter the reason, arise, trust God and move to the next place of provision! When you get to your place God will settle you there and nobody can move you.
Don't settle in that temporary place even if it looks very convenient always be ready to leave when God says so. Keep you eyes up to find your place. Only the Holy Spirit can take you there.
Segment 3- Recognising the place and the helper...
Mark 6: 48 ' and having seen that they were troubled and tormented in (their) rowing, for the wind was against them, about the fourth watch of the night ( between 3am-6am) He came to them, walking (directly) on the sea. And He acted as if He meant to pass by them (KJV interprets saying...and would have passed them by) But when they saw Him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost and raised a shriek of terror. For they all saw Him and where agitated (troubled and filled with fear and dread)
It is so surprising that the disciples who have spent so much time with Jesus didn't recognise him even after they spent the night together breaking five loaves of bread and two fishes with five thousand people!
So many of us here have spent our time and entire childhood learning and following Christ. Recently some of you have been praying some specific prayers for God to show up in your troubles, you ask God to show up in your confusion yet when He shows up, you do not recognise him and you reject the answer you get, BECAUSE you have an in built, default idea of how Jesus Christ should show up. You might expect Jesus to show up gentle and he shows up in his majesty with his omnipotent and raw power that you think it's demonic. You might expect him to show up in all is Glory,Majesty, Awesomeness but he comes in meek and simple or you expect him to show up moderate and he comes way beyond your imagination and you say I can't believe this it is too good to be true.. If you have a problem with Things that are too good to be true, the problem might just be you don't see yourself true enough for good things to happen to you. Sometimes you expect him immediately and he shows up gradually you can barely perceive him to be around or you expect him later and he shows up now! Ask yourself before you build up your expectation... who is THE LORD? You or him, who calls the shot, you or him? When you begin to know that that it is less of you and more of him, then you would not load yourself with a preset mind. For John the baptist said in John 3:30.."He (Jesus) must increase and I must decrease.." That should be the mindset of a true child of God
Maybe in your today, you suffer a problem, it could be a disease, an oppression or financial difficulties it doesn't really matter what you suffer from, He can handle it. You are here and sometime ago in the midst of your agony you simply said God help me, God is showing up to you now wanting to help you, He is waiting here right now for you to open your heart to him and he will show you the way to your place of healing, deliverance and prosperity, a place of Joy and a blessed assurance that when He comes again to take his people home you would not be left out. He is saying come... Come to me, I am the way , the truth and the life (John 14:6), bring your yoke and your heavy burdens to me let me take them and give you mine which is light and easy to bear (Matthew 11:28)... Will you reject Him now? This might not be the way you expected your answer to show up but it doesn't not mean the answer is not available. He came in a manger in the humble town of Bethlehem as a carpenter's son and the people that expected him did not recognise him as the Christ because he came in the humblest for that was not suitable for their preset idea of how the Messiah, the Christ should come. Will you be like them? If you want to take this bold step to accept him, do it now with you heart open knowing he would help you..don't say let me just take a chance. It is not a chance neither is He a coincidence of facts, He is for real.
If this message is received with joy, hallelujah, if it breaks you go and do what you have to.
Prayer:
Dear Father, I ask you in the name of Jesus to forgive of my sins in any way I have not been faithful to you in my life's situations. I ask you come into my life life and be the LORD over my life. I accept and agree to follow your leading in all that I do in the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
