Don't Judge Me!

Don't Judge Me!

This is the theme of modern christianity and everybody seem to be doing things upside down, down side up and we are all afraid to speak because we are afraid of the "who hath no sin cast the first stone doctrine" and sin thrives on like fashion

lets study this carefully

In Acts 7:54-60

Stephen, a pious devotee of the gospel while preaching the gospel upset members of the Sanhedrin and they "stoned him to death", but something significant happened before the death of Stephen, he saw the heavens opened and saw the son of man (Jesus Christ) standing at the right hand of God..

In John 8:1-11

A woman caught in the very act of adultery was brought before Jesus (Son of Man) to be dealt with according to the law, "stoned to death." interestingly Jesus answered them nothing but wrote on he ground and said "he who had no sin let him cast the first stone. When he looked up again the accusers were gone save the woman and Jesus said neither do I condemn thee........(every one seem to stop reading further from here)...Go and sin no more."

Analysis

The bible in Ezekiel 18:23 quotes, Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?

Stephen a devote christian at the point of death, saw Jesus Christ in Heaven, in His Majesty Standing at the right hand of power yet Jesus did not prevent him from been stoned to death because Jesus understood the death of the righteous as a treasure ( Isaiah 57:1) but for the woman caught in adultery He stopped the stoning, yet Jesus Christ did not in any means justify her, He agreed with the pharisees when they called the act sin, He agreed she was adulterous, He agreed that by law it was punishable but He did not agree that she should die in her sin unlike Stephen because The Lord has no gain in the death of a sinner and proceeded to tell her the truth yet in love "go and sin no more.

The reason we seem to get away with most wrong doing is not because God justified or saw nothing wrong in what we do or changed his laws but that we do not perish in our iniquity that's why we don't get judged now, but when you see a brother in any wrong doing or act, instead of keeping quiet because you don't want to be judged and allow that person to perish in sin why don't you discuss privately with that brother and help restore them instead of keeping quiet and contributing to ongoing gossips.

The Pharisees, the accusers of the adulterous woman despite how they have been slandered by today's " don't judge me christians" did some commendable things in their reaction to the woman's sin, some right and some wrong.

The right things they did:

1) They Identified sin

2) Recognised something must be done for atonement
3) Brought her to Jesus Christ
4) Left her Judgement to Christ after His word

The wrong things

1) Where is the man in the act?

2) The Stoning

Lets learn from the act of these pharisees that something needs to be done when a believer falls. You would not be condemned as judging if you help and you don't have to be perfect from sin to be qualified to restore others from their wrong as long as you are willing to receive counsel yourself. You only have to be perfect if you have to cast the stone

I rephrase " You don't have to be perfect to help bring up some one who has fallen you only have to be perfect if you have to cast a stone" Jesus did not rebuke the hypocritical pharisees for spotting the woman and bringing her, he only rebuked them for trying to cast the stone.

Be a guide and loving watch for your brethren in Christ and don't feel bad for been rebuked only fools hate good counsel.

God bless you
